The planned Town Hall went on without Congressman Rogers, as his office said his schedule was already set, and he would not be able to join his constituents at the Anniston City Meeting Center.
Rogers has not met publicly with his constituents in over 7 years.
This event was co-hosted by Calhoun County Democrats and Constitutional Crisis Concerned Citizens, which is a non-political group.
Like Indivisible said "Republicans in Congress continue to enable the Trump-Musk hostile takeover of our government and our democracy. They refuse to fight back against the mass firings and spending freezes that are throwing everyday Americans into financial chaos – and now, they’re pushing a budget plan that would slash Medicaid, food assistance, and other lifesaving programs to pay for obscene tax breaks for billionaires like Musk. We need to see every single Democrat fighting back. The upcoming March recess is a critical opportunity for House Democrats to prove to their constituents that they’re committed to using their leverage to delay and defy the Trump agenda."
Almost 200 concerned citizens participated in the Town Hall, making it a great community event, with many eager to pose questions to 'Mister Rogers.' Media outlets were invited, but none showed up. We met many new people, and some shared stories about the impact of the Trump administration and DOGE on them and others they knew. This is just the beginning, and we need to unite and stand up for our freedom and rights. Democrats, Republicans, Independents, and others—this isn't about 'left' or 'right.' It's entirely about 'right' and 'wrong.'
This event was a 'first' for the sponsors, and while not everything went exactly as planned, the vast majority of attendees didn't notice any issues and praised the program. They thanked those in charge for organizing the meeting and joining the National Town Hall movement, led by Indivisible. Thanks to Constitutional Crisis Concerned Citizens for co-hosting the event and thanks to Indivisible for providing detailed guidance for the town hall meeting.
We encourage each of you to connect with us and join the movement to address this 'constitutional crisis.'

Here are some photos - sorry for not capturing images of everyone who asked questions - the room was quite full - and it wasn't always easy to spot everyone. One piece of feedback we failed to capture - was to hold MORE rallies! We're completely on board with that :) Thank you all for coming out and speaking up! --Beverly
